Four-ply means four strands twisted before knitting, which gives a fabric roughly twice the weight of the two-ply most brands use. The yarn is spun from Inner Mongolian fibre at 15.5 micron and knitted on frames from the 1960s at a rate of about one garment an hour.

  • Heirloom weight

Four-ply is a completely different object to the cashmere on the high street. Almost no pilling after a winter.

  • Worth it

Expensive, and I would buy it again. Warmer than my coat.
