The atelier
A workroomof eleven,in Antwerp.
VÉRSE was founded in Antwerp in 2018 on a narrow idea: that a fashion house does not need a seasonal calendar to justify making clothes.
We publish chapters. Each contains nine garments and closes when the patterns are genuinely resolved rather than when a trade show demands it. Chapter VII took nineteen months.
Eleven people work in the building. Two cut, five sew, one runs the pattern room, and three handle everything else including answering the email address at the bottom of this page. There is no marketing department, which is why the photography is made in one afternoon.
Nothing is discounted. If a garment does not sell we keep it in the archive and re-draft it, because the alternative — cutting the price until it moves — teaches us nothing about why it did not work.

“A garment leaves when it is finished, not in February.”
